About
As an Executive Advisor, Leadership Coach, and Facilitator, Beth’s expertise is in helping leaders succeed and thrive within the uniquely challenging and ever-changing landscape of leadership.
Since 2010, Beth has been advising, consulting, and training leaders and their teams. With experience as a Sales and Marketing Director, COO, CEO, nonprofit ED and Board Member, a school administrator, and business owner, Beth brings a wealth of knowledge to every engagement.
Now, Fortune 500s, nonprofit organizations, government agencies, and schools use her tools and strategies, including the NCD framework, to create overcome obstacles and achieve new heights of success .
Beth also founded the Navigating Challenging Dialogue® (NCD) process out of a desire to help herself become a better manager, leader, parent, and friend. As she began working with the tools she developed, she got requests to help people, teams, and organizations become better at having tough – but essential – conversations.
For much of my adult life, I thought I was a direct and clear communicator. What I didn’t realize was how much I was letting my emotions lead my reactions and my communication.
I wasn’t as clear as I’d hoped. In fact, it often caused upset and hurt feelings that took time to repair. This held me back from promotions and caused my team to spend a lot of time trying to work around my emotions.
I finally got fed up with all the time wasted clearing up miscommunication. Through research and practice, I created Navigating Challenging Dialogue®. Following my 4-step framework not only made me a better communicator, it improved all of my relationships. – Beth Wonson
NCD is now a proven tool for improving accountability, retention, and culture in organizations. To reach even more people, Beth has now published two books for implementing NCD:
Turn This Conversation Around: The 4-Stage Process for Communication with Connection
Mastering Feedback: Everything You’ve Never Been Told About How to Give Feedback
Beth speaks nationally about leadership development, as well as the urgent need to have high-stakes conversations in healthy ways, even with people we don’t agree with.
Until we learn to listen with curiosity, build empathy, and focus on the good of the whole when having tough conversations, we will not be able to move the needle on our most complex challenges. - Beth Wonson
