Coming Back To Your Calm Center
My personal definition of joy and abundance is the ability to feel the full range of my emotions and then, when I am ready, to bring myself back to center.
This is not something I just knew how to do. About 20 years ago I had become weary of my emotions controlling me. I wanted to determine how much time I felt centered and how much time I felt off balance, emotionally.
I realized that the inability to feel my emotions and then come back to center had wasted a lot of time. And in some situations, it caused me to create drama and chaos in my life where it was unnecessary.
As I began working as a leadership coach, I noticed how many people could also benefit from being able to bring themself back to a sense of peace after experiencing significant emotions. So I created a short guided meditation that walks you through the same steps I follow on a daily basis (sometimes hourly, depending on what is happening in my life and in the world around me).
I encourage you to download the meditation and listen to it a few days in a row. You will soon be able to walk yourself through the simple steps at a moment’s notice. I employ these steps when:
I am heading into a meeting I feel anxious about.
I have an interaction with another driver that leaves me with anger or frustration.
And even on days when, for some unknown reason, I just feel a level of unexplained anxiety under the surface.
Let me know how this guided meditation feels to you! And what, if any, shifts you feel as you use this tool.
