Energizing Your Team for 2022

You are likely clearing up your to do list before the holiday break​, but there is likely one more task on your list: the pesky team kick-off or retreat for 2022.

How can you energize and focus your team in a meaningful way?

Here are some quick ideas. 

  • Don’t worry about getting fancy or over-scripted. What people are yearning for is just a time to connect and actually talk with each other. Simplicity is key.

  • Try out my favorite questions for facilitated discussions around alignment and purpose. (I recommend sending the questions out in advance so people can be thinking about them.):

“What drives our team?” “Why do we exist?” “What do we do uniquely as a team that the world really needs?” “What is effortless for us” “What does it look like when we are working in flow?”

  • You can break people into small groups to discuss and then have them come back together to share with the larger group.

  • Depending on the size of your team, you might choose to have a facilitated discussion all together. Team discussions, with their lively dynamics, are often more successful when facilitated by someone who has no alliances or investment in the outcome​.

Remember, this is a discussion. There are no wrong answers and, most importantly, you don’t have to have the answers already decided. 

This is your chance to simply listen and be curious.

Starting off 2022 with an opportunity to look deeply at purpose is a great first step!
